Been in blogging hibernation....

Been a little distracted of late with kids activities, work, etc.  Weekends just seem to pass by in a flash and before I know it - I am back at work and the Blog has not been updated.

Well in advance of updating the blog I downloaded a LOAD of photos.  Our USA Ski Trip seems like ages ago - so it was nice to see the photos again.

Queens Birthday weekend

While the UK got a double holiday for the Queens Jubilee, in Australia we get the Queens Birthday weekend as a holiday every year.

Sadly this long weekend has been wet.  It started raining on Friday night and it's now Monday - and it's still raining.

The weekend has therefore consisted of shopping, James soccer (a small interval in the rain - lost 1-3 but played really well), sleepovers for the kids and winter stews.

It's due to rain for another 3 days....

Thankfully we have The Cook Islands to look forward to - we have a week there with the Hoffman's in about 4 weeks time.  Sunshine and blue sky will be the order of the day!

The snaps below are from the last month or so and remind us of warmer times!

This was in Hawaii.  Poor Jack had just been dumped on his head by Olivia...it was quite a lump.
 Jack is obsessed with cars.
Jack had his first hair cut.  He did not really enjoy it - but the result was a smarter little boy.
He is starting to get used to his scooter.  Can almost steer but not yet work the pedals.
Skiing - seems like years ago...what a great holiday!
In the hot tub - it's about 2 degrees outside but the hot tub was 40 degrees!
On every ski holiday we need to have a fondue - Breckenridge was no exception.
Jack enjoyed getting wrapped up and walking in the cold.
Bubba Gump's restaurant served the most disgusting looking drinks - which the kids loved.

 ....and the great deserts.
It snowed in Breckendridge - this is the view from our townhouse.  The ski slope is just beyond the trees.
Back to Hawaii - the pool had lots of caves and waterfalls.
Diamond Head - an old volcano just outsound Honolulu - it was a hot climb!
James and I did lots of snorkelling and saw some amazing fish and coral.
A few days after getting back from USA - James came 8th in his school cross country race.  He was joint 8th with Jed - with him in this photo.
A recent walk in the local National Park.
Lots of band competitions recently - Olivia got a GOLD medal and James a SILVER.  Jack earned lots of rewards for being good and not screaming too much during the performances.
Jack is a real trendy boy - always wearing the best new clothes (all of them donated by friends!).
