January has gone fast

It's been a busy few weeks.

The kids are still on holidays but desperately need to get back to school for some discipline, routine and down time.  School holidays are just non-stop for them and they are getting very tired....as are their parents.

In amongst the usual trips to the beach we've been camping for 3 days - including a night in the worst storm we have EVER camped in; done a lot of cycling; James had a surf lesson;  there has been lots of sleep-overs and I've been back at work as busy as ever.

Jack is walking all the time now - running when he can and is still the happiest little boy.  We reckon his vocabularly is better than James or Olivia at this age (influenced by people talking to him all the time) - so far he has Mum, Dad, James, Olivia, Stairs Bang, Car, Woo, Broom Broom, Gone and many other words - Emma has counted almost 20 I think.

Olivia is practising her flute every day - first official lessons are next week - they will help.

James is NOT practising his euphonium as that would reduce the amount of time on his skateboard or scooter.

Emma is golfing.  Played 3 times now and mostly enjoying it.  She has also called me a "good coach" which is unheard of on any topic, ever.......so maybe more golf is on the cards.

The snaps below are a collection of the last few weeks.

Olivia and James decided to do the Cub Scout "Cooking" badge today. This involved making a meal for an adult.  Olivia made her mum bacon & eggs.  James (below) made me pancakes.  To get the badge they had to clear up afterwards.  I tried to tell them they also had to clean their bedroom....but they don't fall for these tricks anymore.

This was taken a few weeks ago at Shelley Beach.  Jack loves the water.
On our camping trip we did a great 2 hour walk to this beach. At low tide there is a 100 year old wreck of a steamship.  Sadly we were there at high tide and no wreck could be seen.

On the way back Jack fell asleep.  I had to carry him like this for about 1 hour!  Jack loved it but my back was killing me....until Emma took over.
The kids built their own shelter on the campground from spare tarpaulins.  They threatened to sleep in it but only lasted about 5 minutes....
While James played in the surf all day, Olivia sometimes just sat on the beach and kept warm under her towel.
One downside of Jack walking is that he can now reach the crisps!
Olivia did spend a lot of time in the sea - body boarding on the dumpy waves.  She had a great time.

Jack took a while to get used to the sand....but soon was running around.

I have a new underwater camera.  These were taken in the pool today.

Jack LOVES the pool.  He screams when we take him out.

More soon.
