Home alone

Emma and the kids headed off to the UK on Friday to start their Christmas early.

They arrived to "typical" December weather - cold, bleak and damp.  After less than 24 hours Olivia has already declared "I could not live here".

The itinerary for the next few weeks involves Devon, London, Devon, Edinburgh, Courchevel (skiing).  I arrive on 19th.

Before everyone left we had a pre-Xmas, Xmas dinner with the Hoffmans.  We spend most Christmas Days with the Hoffman's so it will seem a little odd this year not to be sharing our turkey with them.  Instead we had Buritos and Gingerbread cake last weekend.

The kids loved cracking open their first gingerbread house of the year.  Jack was a little bemused but soon got the idea of 'whacking' the house with a wooden spoon and had no problems in eating lots and lots of icing, sweets and gingerbread.
Sticking with a Jack theme, I stumbled upon this photograph on Emma's camera.  Poor Jack was the victim of Olivia on a 'dress up' day.  It's important that we keep this photograph to use at his 18th Party, 21st Party and Wedding.

With a quiet house I have had a productive weekend.  Played golf, did some shopping and finally got around to some gardening.
